Energoatom's management and US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Trade hold a discussion of cooperation with US companies

NNEGC «Energoatom» held an online meeting with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Trade in Europe and Eurasia David De Falco, during which they discussed issues related to the bilateral cooperation in the field of nuclear industry as well as the implementation of joint projects of the Ukrainian Energoatom and the US companies Westinghouse Electric Corporation and Holtec International.

During the meeting, the Acting President of Energoatom Petro Kotin briefed his American counterparts on the development of the nuclear industry in Ukraine and its significance for the domestic economy, the progress of the Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility completion as well as the corporatization of NNEGC.

The Head of the Company outlined the prospects of cooperation with Westinghouse and the importance of its participation in the completion of Khmelnytsky NPP power units 3 and 4. Furthermore, the engagement of US companies in the implementation of projects of small modular reactor construction in Ukraine was also discussed.

Mr. Kotin stressed that he highly appreciated the cooperation with the United States and the assistance provided by the US government to Ukraine. In addition to a long-term and fruitful partnership with Westinghouse and Holtec, Energoatom implements several joint projects with the support of the US Department of Energy.
